Baptism services take place several times a year.

Baptists believe that, in accordance with teachings in the Bible, baptism is intended for Christian believers only.  Thus, we believe that baptism by complete immersion in water best conveys the full significance of baptism as revealed in the scriptures and in signifying the ending and burial of a life without belief in Jesus Christ and the start of a new ministry that is dependent upon that faith.

Candidates seeking to be baptised normally are expected to undergo a brief course of teaching and counselling to ensure that a full understanding of that which takes place in baptism is understood. Course materials include the practical aspects of a baptism which is conducted in a purpose built and heated tank and with two church leaders standing either side of the candidate to ensure that the immersion is swift and to assist the candidate in standing upright afterwards.  A close friend normally assists with holding towels, looking after a change of clothing and other practical considerations.

Dedication of Infants
Whilst children and young people who have made a clear profession of faith are eligible for baptism, those who have yet to make such a clear step of faith are instead dedicated to God and prayed over in the expectation that, one day, they too will realise that Jesus Christ died for them as individuals and will follow Christ in faith themselves.
